Executive & Leadership Coaching.
One-to-one coaching for leaders at every altitude — from the CEO carrying enterprise weight to the emerging leader stepping up for the first time. Whatever your climb, there is a way to work together. Start where you are. This is the home of ClimbWizely’s Professional coaching, the work we do for your career.
The higher you climb, the fewer people tell you the truth.
Coaching gives you back what leadership quietly takes away — a place to think out loud, be honest, and get better without an audience.
As you rise, the problems stop having clean answers and the feedback gets thinner. The people around you want something from you, protect you, or simply can’t see the whole picture. Good coaching interrupts that.
It is not therapy and it is not consulting. It is a regular, confidential conversation with someone who has actually led — who will listen closely, ask the question no one else asks, and hold you to the leader you are trying to become. The agenda is yours. The work is real. And the point is not insight for its own sake, but sharper judgment, steadier presence, and better decisions where they count.
ClimbWizely coaching is led by Sonya Maddox, who has spent decades in senior commercial leadership. That means the conversation starts where you are — with the calls on your desk this week, not a framework from a textbook.
Find the coaching that fits your climb.
Leadership looks different at every altitude, and so does the coaching. Each engagement is built around where you sit today and where you are trying to go — honest conversation, real situations, and steady progress with a partner who has actually led. Choose the path that matches your moment, and we’ll shape the work from there.

Practical & direct
Honest conversation about real situations, with clear next steps you can act on between sessions.
Built around you
No fixed curriculum. The work is shaped by your goals, your context, and the decisions in front of you.
Accountable
A steady thinking partner who holds you to the growth you came here for — and helps you get there.
Leaders at every altitude of the climb.
Coaching isn’t reserved for people in trouble — it’s for people who take their leadership seriously and want to be better at it. The most common reason leaders start is simple: something has changed, or is about to. A bigger role. A harder season. A decision they can’t make alone.
The newly promoted
Stepping into a role that asks for more than the one that earned it.
The seasoned executive
Carrying enterprise weight and wanting a partner who can meet it.
The rising leader
Ready for the next level and building toward it before it arrives.
The leader in transition
Between roles, functions, or chapters, and moving on purpose.
The one who feels alone
Needing an honest, confidential place to think that the org can’t provide.
The already-good
Performing well and refusing to coast — sharpening what already works.
Discover, develop, sustain.
Discover
We name where you are, what you want, and what is standing in the way.
Develop
We meet regularly to work real situations and build presence, judgment, and skill.
Sustain
You carry the gains forward — leading at your next level with habits that hold.
Your call, sharpened
You leave each session clearer on the decision in front of you, not carrying someone else’s prescription.
Tested on real stakes
Judgment is built on the live situations on your desk, so it holds when the pressure is real.
Yours to keep
The point is capability that stays with you long after the engagement ends, not dependence on a coach.
The difference shows up in the room.
You won’t become someone else. You’ll become a clearer, steadier version of the leader you already are.
Sharper decisions
A trusted way to think through the calls that used to keep you up, and the confidence to make them.
Steadier presence
Composure that holds when the stakes rise — in the boardroom, the town hall, the hard conversation.
Less alone
A confidential partner in your corner, so the weight of the role stops being yours to carry by yourself.
What leaders ask before they start.
A few of the questions that come up most often. If yours isn’t here, ask it directly.
How is coaching different from mentoring or consulting?
A consultant hands you an answer; a mentor tells you what they’d do. A coach helps you build your own judgment — asking sharper questions, holding the mirror steady, and keeping you accountable to the leader you want to be. Because Sonya has led, the conversation is grounded in real experience, but the agenda and the answers stay yours.
How long does an engagement run?
Most engagements run several months, with sessions every two to three weeks. That rhythm gives you room to try things between conversations and bring real situations back. Shorter, focused engagements around a specific transition are also possible — we’ll size it to your goal.
Is what we discuss confidential?
Completely. Coaching only works when you can be fully honest, so what you say stays between us. When an organization sponsors the coaching, we agree up front on what — if anything — is shared, and it never includes the substance of your conversations.
I’m already performing well. Is coaching still worth it?
Especially then. The leaders who get the most from coaching are usually the ones who are already good and refuse to coast. When the feedback thins out and the problems get harder, a sharp outside partner is how you keep getting better.
What the work actually looks like.
No mystery, no theatre. A regular conversation, built around your real situations, that adds up to something over time.
A rhythm, not a fix
We meet on a steady cadence — usually every two to three weeks — so the work has room to land between sessions and follow you into the real decisions.
Your agenda leads
You bring what’s live — the call on your desk, the conversation you’re dreading, the pattern you keep repeating. We start there, every time.
Honest, in both directions
You get a partner who will tell you the truth and expect the same back. That’s the deal that makes the hour worth it.
